Nov 2011: Value rating on sustainability
Tomorrows Value Rating is a rating system and ranking table for the sustainability practices of leading companies. The table generates a measure of a company’s sustainability performance through a standardised benchmarking methodology covering fourteen key areas. A recent article displayed that many blue chip organisations haven’t embedded sustainability fully and are at a greater risk of losing trust of stakeholders than those that have.
The rating system understands that in terms of sustainability:
Some companies get and understand sustainability and some don’t – at least not yet.
Organisations have a process to weigh up conflicting priorities and make sure that sustainability priorities are considered when they are making important decisions.
Some companies can talk a good game, with well-produced reports that cover the required ground, but do not implement sustainability in practice.
Those companies that did rank highly include: Campbell’s, Danone, General Electric, HP, Intel, Nestle and Nike.
